Maria Begoña Colomar was born and raised in Spain. She started practicing ballet at an early age. At the age of 14 she joined the "Joven Ballet Contemporaneo" in her town Oviedo –Asturias (Spain) directed by Marisa Fanjul where she was trained under the Russian method based upon the Vaganova School . In addition, Mrs. Colomar received intense training in Spanish Dance/Flamenco as well as modern dance. Mrs. Colomar dedicated many years to prepare and take examinations of the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) of London.
At the present time Mrs. Colomar is receiving the Diploma/Certificate in Dance Teaching Studies through the RAD of London. Mrs. Colomar atended intense Ballet Courses at the famous school of Roshella Hitowwer in Cannes (France) as well as courses with very well recognized Spanish dancers such as Victor Ullate.
As a member of the Joven Ballet Contemporaneo Mrs. Colomar participated and took primary roles in Ballets such as "Invitacion a la Danza" (Invitation to the Dance), "El Amor Brujo" (Gipsy Love), Cabaret among others. The company traveled to different cities in Europe and other countries performing these ballets.
Mrs. Colomar has an extensive experience in teaching ballet to children at different schools in Spain as well as in Miami where she runs a ballet program in an elementary school.
